Love is Blind?!

Soo  My favorite Netflix reality show 'Love is Blind' is BACK, BABY!!! With a WHOLE NEW SEASON, WOOHOO!!! I love the show so much that I got my mom hooked on it, too LMAO. It's really interesting and we should talk about it.  What is 'Love is Blind'?  Love is Blind is basically a Netflix reality TV Show. It is a love experiment. 15 men and women blind date each other (LITERALLY - THEY DON'T GET TO SEE EACH OTHER - THEY CAN ONLY HEAR EACH OTHER THROUGH A WALL) for about 10 days or so. The point is to ensure that they fall in love with 'souls' rather than physicality. After they find a meaningful connection with someone that they have blind dated, the guy (or the girl! Hey, it's 2024) proposes and the couple is officially engaged.  They're then taken to a sexy romantic getaway in Mexico (which looks so lavish that it is definitely on my bucket list) to test whether they are physically compatible (which is obviously integral for any relationship to...

V Day

I recently had to write a poem for my favorite course (you guessed it - creative writing!) and I thought I'd share it on the occasion of v day. Last year, y'all saw a love poem and this year you will also see a love poem. BUT. It's not your conventional love poem. My girls and I are actually ordering brownies and Korean bread for a very-needed GALentines LOL. I hope y'all are having a self-loving, self-appreciating valentines today, too. As I said last year, love isn't all romantic. I learned that this year. Having my heart broken taught me that there are so many other forms of love that I have been surrounded by all my life that I never noticed before. Take time out today to reflect on love i...

"Put together"

I walked into my creative writing course in uni the other day and a girl from my batch sat next to me. We had never spoken before, but I'd seen her in another course of mine as well. Being the social butterfly that I am, I struck conversation instantly. I introduced myself and asked her about her major (literally the only conversation first-years have when they don't know each other). She answered and then asked if I was a second year.  I was surprised.  Second year?? SECOND year?!  Damn. That felt cool but I was curious about why she felt so, so I asked her.  Her answer was "you look so put-together." PUT. TOGETHER. AND ME?  "Put-together" is basically a synonym for "sorted" which is British slang for someone who has their life well-organized and in order.  Bullshit.  Let's rewind.  Five minutes before class I was in shambles because of something that had happened in my life. I showed up to class with my hair messily put up in a clip. I could ...
