A Thousand Words

They say 'a picture's worth a thousand words' So I saved every picture I had of you But I didn't dare to look at them again Because what if what they said wasn't true? What if those pictures stared back at me? Empty and blank and forlorn Only to remind me that the good times we had Were frozen in pictures that are almost torn.  What if those pictures reminded me Of the fact that you were no longer here? What if those pictures reinstated in me That dangerous spark of fear- Of losing those that I dearly love Ruthlessly, in the blink of an eye, Of being surrounded by an ocean of people, But still feeling alone and I can't explain why.  Because losing you was far from easy For you left an indelible mark on me My most prized memories have you in them But now I yearn to be free- From our hauntingly long past That has taken over the thoughts in my mind I've tried looking for peace amidst the chaos But I can't chase what I'm not meant to find.  So I choose t...

Grade 11 - It's A Wrap:)

SOO Grade 11 is o f f i c i a l l y over, and I can NOT believe it. What I assumed to be an average year due to online classes for the most part, turned out to be, dare I say, the best year of my life. I met an amazing bunch of people, made some crazy connections, worked hard, played a little and partied, of course.  I walked into grade 11 a tad nervous, knowing that I had to make friends virtually. But that turned out to be so much fun. Before the year started, kids in my school made a group chat where we formally introduced ourselves. Everything took off from there. We started talking on house party, we had video calls, zoom meetings and streaks. Those 3 months (April, May and June) were probably the most exhilarating because we could start calling our classmates, our 'friends'.  School began in July and not long after, we had our first mixer. A couple kids from the grade got together to host a party for the AS Level kids. That was an EXTREMELY pivotal stage in the year. Tha...

Summer '22

My board exams (yes, ugh, Cambridge doesn't give 11th graders a break👍) FINALLY got over today and trust me, I know that after a week of sweet freedom, the boredom WILL settle in. So I used 2am motivation one night to come up with a list of things I just had to do this summer (monsoon, technically, but you get it).  Here are a series of things you can do this summer (monsoon, technically, but who cares?) to make you feel productive (if you despise whiling away time) and let you engage with different aspects of your personality (for real).  1. TRAVEL - yeah and I know most girl groups take 3 months to plan and 1 sec to can, BUT SERIOUSLY - consider it. Vlog, take up photography (or make reels) while you're at it, and you'll surely have fun!  2. BAKE - ok who doesn't love a good chocochip cookie? I LIVE for those (seriously, ask my friends, I'm all about junk). Try baking, use ready-made mixes, give youtube a shot. Trust me, the fruit of all that work is sweet (lit...
